CALISTOGA, Napa County — November 4, 2026. Unlike nearby St. Helena and Yountville, Calistoga had no contested municipal election on November 3. The city canceled its scheduled municipal vote after the number of qualified candidates equaled the number of available seats, according to Patch’s local ballot reporting. This does not mean residents had no ballot choices at all: state, county and school district elections still applied.
School board is a separate vote
In the Calistoga Joint Unified School District board race for two seats, KQED’s 1:10 a.m. November 4 county snapshot listed Laurel Rios with 617 candidate selections (32.6%), Irene Pena with 463 (24.4%) and Cecilia Ramirez with 419 (22.1%). Rebecca Sager also participated. The district spans parts of Napa and Sonoma counties, so final certification must account for all applicable voters across the district.
Do not invent a mayoral result
The cancellation of Calistoga’s contested city race means there is no genuine election-night tally pitting two mayoral candidates against each other in the city. By contrast, the school board votes are a real contest with a partial, unofficial count. They should be reported under their actual jurisdiction rather than being relabeled as city council or mayor votes.
Check Napa County Elections and the relevant school district for later updates. At the reported stage, all numbers remained preliminary.
